Terms and payment policies

DebutYou LLC, an Ohio company, operates DebutYou. These terms explain community use and our standard founding campaign. Campaign participation also follows the campaign rules and the versions identified in your entry or agreement.
A campaign starts with an agreed brief and signed agreements. Those agreements and their completed attachments control the work, price, permissions and dates. A payment link alone does not commission creator work or launch a campaign. Later website edits do not change an accepted agreement.
Your account and community
Community accounts and campaign participation are for people aged 18 or older. You may use a public alias. Provide accurate information for eligibility, private contracting and payment, and keep your sign-in details secure. Creating a profile and applying with existing authorized work do not require a campaign entry fee or a new unpaid audition.
Share only material you have permission to use. Do not impersonate people, create deceptive accounts, manipulate Iris support, harass others or use automation to bypass account limits or security controls. DebutYou may review reports, restrict affected activity or remove content under the campaign rules. Contact us to request a review. Account restrictions do not erase lawful earned compensation.
What a studio purchases
The founding campaign base price is $3,000 USD, plus any applicable tax and separately agreed additions. We disclose the final quote before signing and payment. This is a one-time service, with no automatic renewal. Larger or tailored campaigns have their own written scope and price.
The base package funds ten Stage creators, each making at least three distinct agreed edits for a $100 brief fee. Four creators continue to separate paid trials, each making at least three further edits for an additional $200. That is 30 Stage edits and 12 trial edits if all briefs are completed. Extras made voluntarily are not conditions of pay or selection. Studio-requested additions require agreed scope, pay and time.
Vertical or landscape formats, duration, authorized assets, required posts and one consolidated revision round per piece are agreed before kickoff. Two Community Doors and two Studio Doors lead to trials under the campaign rules. Any Fifth Door is separately funded. Campaigns offer paid creative experience; they do not guarantee views, sales, hiring, internships or later commissions.
Payment and delivery
The studio pays the agreed invoice in full before entries open. Approved studio payments use Stripe-hosted checkout. DebutYou allocates $1,800 of the base package to creator fees and $1,200 to campaign services before expenses and tax. This is an internal business allocation, not escrow.
Our recommended production schedule is two weeks for the Stage and two weeks for trials. Applications, onboarding, review, selection and payment administration add time; the signed dates control. Services and edits are delivered digitally through the channels agreed in the brief. There are no physical goods, shipping charges or physical returns.
Creators receive no advance. DebutYou pays $100 within seven calendar days of Stage approval, after Stage close, and the additional $200 within seven calendar days of trial approval, subject to earlier required deadlines. Approval measures the written brief. Low views, voting results or subjective taste do not make conforming work unpaid. The agreements define review deadlines, corrections and escalation if a studio does not respond.
Who can use the edits
Creators retain their original contributions. Stage publishing is creator-led on the channels authorized in the brief; studio reuse of Stage edits is excluded unless separately agreed with permission and compensation terms.
For trial edits expressly covered by the brief, accepted delivery, full creator payment, studio funding and a written release start a 90-day window for new organic posts on named studio accounts. Approved posts may stay unchanged afterward with agreed credit where underlying rights allow. Trial posts on creator channels also require the permissions recorded in the brief.
Copyright assignment, exclusivity, source files, paid advertising, boosts, whitelisting, material re-edits and AI training are not included by default. Additional uses require separate written permission and agreed compensation. Cancellation does not grant rights to unfinished work.
Cancellation and refunds
To request cancellation or discuss a delivery problem, email hello@debutyouhq.com with your campaign name and payment reference. Do not send card numbers or identity documents. We review the signed scope, completed work and payment records with you.
Under the standard signed founding agreement, convenience cancellation by the studio or DebutYou preserves earned creator pay. Before authorized work begins, no creator fee is earned. After it begins, the settlement covers conforming completed edits proportionally, plus reasonably valued documented work in progress, capped at the phase fee. A completed conforming brief earns the full fee. Undisputed creator settlements are due within seven calendar days of cancellation, subject to earlier required deadlines.
DebutYou earns its $1,200 service portion in three $400 milestones: studio acceptance of the completed brief and asset-readiness review; resolution of Stage obligations and confirmation of four trial selections; and resolution of trial obligations with closeout delivered. Only completed milestones are earned. These milestones and the following formula take effect when the agreement is signed.
Studio refund: campaign funds received, less earned DebutYou services and creator fees earned or contractually owed. Signed extras and any tax adjustment are accounted for separately. Previous refunds or reversals reduce the remaining refund; creator payouts are not counted twice. Processing fees are DebutYou’s expense.
We provide an itemized settlement and return the undisputed balance within ten business days. Your bank or payment provider may take additional time to show the credit. Breach claims are handled separately. Creator withdrawal, unmet requirements, replacement work and an incomplete scope follow the signed agreement; earned rights are preserved.
Business days mean Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays, in America/New_York time. If a tailored campaign changes these arrangements, its agreed cancellation terms are disclosed before signing and payment.
Privacy, questions and changes
Our privacy notice explains community records and Stripe payments. Payment information is not public profile content. An optional Stripe Link account follows Stripe’s own terms and privacy practices.
For a campaign dispute, exchange the relevant brief and evidence and seek a resolution discussion within five business days while undisputed payments remain due. Ohio law applies only to the extent permitted; mandatory protections in the relevant locations and available legal remedies remain. Changes to signed campaign terms need the affected parties’ written agreement.
